Jahiera's Quest (Small spoiler???)

Has anyone had trouble with Jahiera's quest simply not occouring?

I dropped Jahiera pretty early in the game, and now (a long time later.... about day 94?) ive completed most of the side quests, i go to pick Jahiera up and she acts as if shes already done her quest - If you try drop her she says she has nowhere to go instead of "ill be near the harper compound" - or whatever her says precisely. Oh, and i havnt paid the money to
Galen to continue with the story.

I looked for similar posts, and this did seem to have come up, so to answer questions on what i have done in that previous post:

No i dont have a romance with Jahiera (I dont have a romance with anyone in fact, i have yet to figure out how to start them)

and Yes i went back to the harper compound after you do that small Montaron Quest involving the harpers.... nothing happens.

Unrelated problems: Does anyone have the problem where sometimes, when you try to talk to someone it says theyre busy, and you end up having to save and load so theyre not "busy"? A minor problem but it gets irritating after awhile.

Ahh..... and after reading through the histories of a number of forums i think i know my problem....
when you return that Renfold(?) guy to the harpers is he supposed to be dead? - The one you rescue during a not so random encounter.

eh heh heh heh.....

oops... waiting 90+ days before returning him couldnt have been good for survival chances.... (bother... if only i knew there really was a time limit).

Can anyone confirm if that is the problem? Oh, and if so.... is there a way to "fix" it?

Well, as you realised, you need to return the poisoned guy to the Harpers compound as soon as possible, while he's still alive. And that is the only way you can go into the compound to have the quest begins...

If you need him to be alive then try playing with the RENFELDDEATH global. It might be the time point past which renfeld with be dead. Try setting it ridiculously high (failing that low). In my game where I got him reasonably early on I think its 1295249. So if you've played many days try 40000000 or somethiing as a first try. Anyway pure speculation on my part so if it doesn't work there is no money back guarantee.

Ive tried to substitute in other numbers without any real success, (I created a new game and looked at those numbers), and the only thing that seems to happen is the game has a far higher chance of crashing, so ive just moved on with the game.... and dropped Jahiera (presumabely forever since i dont think ill meet up with her again).
Ahh well... If i redo the game sometime, ill remember to keep the man alive.
