Resting online question...

Post by Stilgar »

How will resting be done in the game?
Cause it's online, or can i only play 1day (gametime) a day (real-time???)

Cause a lowlevel sorcerer will need more resting (to regain spells)then a lowlevel fighter.
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Resting is universal, normally 8 hours are needed for proper rest for everyone, each individual game will decide how much rest a person will need and how they will organize that.

But if i'm not mistaken, there will be huge worlds/games.
Would that mean that if I want to rest, everyone will???

Like I said, each world will decide how they want to organise that, some might do it that you can only rest between certain periods, some might do it that you leave the game world, others will do different things.

And is it known how Argyle is gonna handle this?

Not at the moment, it is one thing they are considering and it is one of the more difficult things (IMO) that they will have to sort out.

my bet is if you go to a inn and rest your screen goes black and then back and you have rested and no every one else has noticed nothing

like in an instance

but what if a battle is going on outside can you rest and charge back in fully prepared

my brain hurts :(
Ancient times they had no statistics so they had to fall back on lies

"I'm invinceable"
"your a loony"

I'd rather be rich than stupid.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

The best bet we've got is to wait and find out, I'm sure it will be easy in single-player, but each world will do it differently. :)

they showed how resting works at e3

resting is done in real time.

your character sits on the ground and rests, while the other characters in the world can continue to run around and do whatever they want.

very well done, and works well.

while you are resting could people not come up and fiddle with your things and also do nasty things to you?

Sort of the point. Thats why you rest at an inn. Like in IWD or BG2 if you rested outside: you might be disturbed by monsters.

people rested outside and were back to full health in a minute or two, this is prolly configurable per dm module though.
