Mages Guild Quest *Spoiler*

When you do a Mages Guild Quest for Ajira, she asks you to put a fake soul gem on a desk. When you do and report back, she asks you if you have done it. It seems as though she doesn't recognize that you have done this. Has anyone else had this problem?

You have to put the gem IN the desk (check your journal), not on the desk.
