Bodhi's side

Post by elephantman »

What are the differences in equipment, gold or exp in siding with Bodhi instead of Aran and the Shadow thieves?

Is there a problem with my game if I unable to save my games?
Everytime I want to quicksave or save my games, it says 'it is unable to save'. What is the deal with that?

Does the inserting of the cheat code 'debug' have anything to do with me not being able to save?

Not sure about the first question - try searching, I believe that it have been discussed before.

As for the not saving thing, what is the exact line that you have added into the baldur.ini file? It should be Debug Mode=1 under [Program Options] - if you have the correct line, then I doubt that this is what is causing the problem.

If I recall correctly, I think you get a little more experience if you side with Bodhi. I think the treasure you get is also better if you side with Bodhi, mainly because you can loot the corpses of Arkanis Gath and Aran Linvail. If you side with Bodhi, she doesn't seem to mind if you steal everything in her lair, including the Mace of Disruption, Ashen Scales, several scrolls, and a Katana +2. (I don't bother keeping up with gold pieces; just items.) Look at it this way: you'll get a chance to kill all the vampires later in the game even if you side with them against the Shadow Thieves, so you'll still be getting all of their treasure and the experience for killing them.

And just think--you can wipe out BOTH guilds if you side with Bodhi. A lot of people seem to think that's morally questionable (shortsighted thief-lovers) :) but the way I see it, the Shadow Thieves have it coming to them. The good people of Athkatla can't even walk the streets without fear for their safety, and you're doing them a favor. They will "forgive" you for killing the Shadow Thieves if you tell them that you "didn't know any better" (as if you really did something bad). But they WON'T forgive you if you try to take the moral high ground ("those thieves deserved to die" ). I admit that sounds pretty dumb (it does to me, anyway), but you don't have to think about it if you don't want to; just go for the gold and the experience. And listen to what Minsc has to say about it. :)
