How do i Kill Tanavon and her vampires
How do i Kill Tanavon and her vampires
How do you kill Tanovan and her 2 vampires, they arent hard but she kepps draining my levels untill all party members are dead?
SPOILER
im not remmebering this one... is this the mage vampire thats to the right of that main vampire room? theres a big room with spikes and blood behind her (you probably havent gotten past her to see it yet)
well, you could draw out the mage vamps one by one and take em out alone... that still might be pretty hard.... just equip minsc with the Mace of disruption (its in the pool of blood to the left of the main vampire room) and just keep bashing her, use pierce magic spell if you have it
and LESSER RESTORATION IS CRUCIAL for getting rid of level drain. its a cleric spell, either buy some scrolls or aeire should have the spell by then (unless shes not leveled that high of course)

You'll also want to memorize "Negative Plane Protection" as it protects you from level drain - too bad it doesn't last long

You should have gotten the Amulet of Power from Aran Linvail. If you have a Cleric or a Druid, you should cast Negative Plane Protection on your characters. You can also buy Protection from Undead scrolls at several locations. However, if you use those scrolls on every member of your party, the vampires can't talk to you like they're supposed to, and it will interfere with the game until the protection wears off, so keep that in mind.
If you don't have any of the previous spells, Summon lots of monsters, animals, wyverns, undead, and conjure or charm just about anything you can find in the temple.
Note: Spirit animals work nicely if you are a Totemic Druid.
Have your monsters cram the hallway one or two at a time. When one creature is about to die, summon up another, This is where your clerics and druids come in handy. If you ohave a really high-level priest Such as Anomen (Viccie won't work and Aerie doesn't level up much) then you can send him in with sanctuary and Turn Undead once Tanova has been weakened. This got me through her fight nearly unscathed.

I think we need some clarification. You can encounter Tanova in three different places: in Bodhi's lair when you're working for Aran Linvail, in Bodhi's lair in Chapter Six, and on the streets of Athkatla in Chapter Two, when she asks you to declare your allegiance and whether you work for the Shadow Thieves. The last one is by far the toughest incarnation.
If you meet Tanova on the streets in Chapter Two, it's not possible to have the Amulet of Power or the Mace of Disruption at that time (not without cheating, anyway). Also, if you cast magic on the streets without a license, the Cowled Wizards might attack you, which will complicate the situation. (Priest spells don't count; only Wizard spells.) Also, since it is a forced encounter, Tanova and her two pals don't wait for you to come to them, so you can't really hide and re-group and "go in" one by one.

IIRC, isn't there a dialogue option to avoid this fight?Originally posted by VonDondu

First of all, let me correct an omission I made. You can meet Tanova on the streets in either Chapter Two or Chapter Three. In Chapter Three, you're either working for Aran Linvail or working for Bodhi. (That's what starts Chapter Three.) If you're working for Aran Linvail when you meet Tanova, she will attack you, no matter what you say to her. If you're working for Bodhi, Tanova won't fight you, even if you lie and tell her that you're working for the Shadow Thieves. She's not stupid.
If you meet Tanova in Chapter Two, you can say one of two things. If you say you work for the Shadow Thieves, she will attack you. If you say you have no allegiance to the Shadow Thieves, she will let you flee.
You can also avoid Tanova by staying out of the streets at night. You won't meet her during the day, since vampires don't come out during the day.
