Vampires!!!!!! Ack!!!!!!!

Help!!! I'm getting my butt kicked by vampires in the graveyard district, & even though I've got the wooden stakes, I can't get anyone in my party to use them!!!

(BTW, I'm going to wait until everyone goes up a level before battling the lost prophets in the sewers. They're just too hard to kill!)

Anyway, I've had Edwin use grease, cast a couple of fireballs, & a couple of magic missles too, but, when the vampire fledglings come out, they drain either Edwin's energy 2 levels or whoever happens to be in their line of fire! & if it's not draining their levels, they're casting domination & then killing Minsc & Yoshimo!

Any ideas, suggestions, cards, letters are very much appreciated!!!!!

you're going about it all wrong. you don't use the wooden stakes until you have already killed them...there are 3 caskets you drive the stakes into...don't try to use them on the actual vampires. just duke it out with them, cleric spells of false dawn and sunray work well.

Ack!!! That means I have to go back to Waukeen's Promenade & go to the spell store! The only thing is, that I don't remember the spell store having either of those spells. Jaheira & Anomen don't have either of those spells & Edwin is very limited too.

Any other ideas or is there another place I can go to get these spells or are they attained at a certain level?

False Dawn is a 6th lvl priest spell, Anomen needs to be 11th lvl. Sunray is a 7th lvl priest spell. Equipping someone with the Azure edge axe sold by Bernard in the copper coronet might help. Did you get the amulet from Aran Linvail at the shadow thief guild? It protects against lvl drain. The 4th lvl spell negaitive plane protection is castable by Jaheira and Anomen and will protect against lvl drains for a short time.Try to meet them in a corridor where they can't surround your party, then you only have to cast neg plane prot. on a few characters. Keep Edwin away from them since he'll lose spells as he loses levels. Anomen might have the Holy Smite spell which will also help.

well, sunray is a level 7 cleric spell, and extremely powerful. go through your cleric spells, you should be high enough level to at least have false dawn. also, negative plane protection will protect your fighters from being level drained.vampires really aren't that tough. just make sure that after you beat one of them, look at yoru guys and see if they have been drained (orange funnel lookign symbol), if they have...you need to cast lesser restoration or go to a temple and pay to have it cast on you

Ok, I have to go through their spells & swap some around so I can kill them. I know that Anomen does have Holy Smite, he just hasn't memorized it yet! There's hope yet!

However, I don't remember Jaheira or Anomen having Negative Plane, I have to check first to make sure.

What amulet are you referring to though that Aran Linvail had? I didn't see anything there. Was I supposed to see it? Or was he supposed to give it to me after I completed his quests? If so, I haven't completed them all yet. I still have to go spy on the others in the graveyard district as well before I go back & see him.

Aran will give you the amulet of power,I believe, after you accept his offer and give him the 15000 gold.he also gives you a ring of protection +2. What levels are Jaheira and Anomen? Neg. plane prot. is the icon that looks like a blue asterisk
