Reaction Adjustment??

Post by Archeron »

In a players stats it has 'reaction', what is this? is lower or higher better? how is it calculated for classes and does it affect the game play much.

Cheers

There are two things that have reaction in it, in both cases higher number is better. The first is the Reaction Adjustment - which comes from the character's Dexterity score, I have no idea what this actually does in the game. The second is Reaction - which comes from a combination of the character's Charisma score and the party's reputation, this influence the way people in the game react to your character. If you have a high modifier then the person you're talking to would more likely to be friendly to you - although such check are rarely used in the game.

Reaction Adjustment determines your penalties for dual-wielding in real D&D w/o proficiencies, but as BG2 uses proficiencies, I have no idea what purpose it serves in the game.
