Twisted Rune

Post by Malakian »

Unfortunatly since I'm not as SoA expeirenced as you all, could someone please explain the twisted rune to me and where they are found? This may seem like a dumb question since all you know where it is except me. I don't mind spoilers.

****Semi Spoiler****

quote from Versus Book, Perfect Guide:

"You'll find the twisted Rune located right below the main door to the Delosar Inn" (Bridge District). "It's locked, and you'll need a Rogue Stone in your possession to enter. When you warp in, you'll be greeted by Shandalar the Black and his associates. The battle is tough with a capital "T", definitely ranking in the top five hardest battles in the game, period. Good luck."

It's definitely worth the grief and aggravation if you have a mage/sorcerer in your party.

The door to get in is trapped, too.

Check out GameBanshee's BG2 Strategy Guides for some help.

Well if your new to SoA Malakian, I wouldn't recommend doing the Twisted Rune till the very end of the game. Main reason why is the item you find there is really going to kill the fun out of future battles.

Thanks. I believe I know the place you are taking about, right by the Elemental Lich were the door is an empty void and you don't know what will happen when you go in thing?

Yes, that's it, in the Bridge District.

I suggest against doing the Twisted Rune (even if you aren't new to SoA). Wait until you're more experienced (characters and person), and have much more equipment/spells/strategy at your disposal. Unless you don't mind using cheese ;)

@Dios

It was listed as part of the quote that I utilized from the guide. However, IMHO (and I know that I will start a bunch of other opinions) these are my five picks:

1. Kangaxx the Demilich
2. The Twisted Rune
3. The Final Battle
4. The Slave Lords
5. Nizidramanii'yt (the Black Dragon) or Firkraag (the Red Dragon) if attempted early and at lower levels

I did not mention the Illithids or the Beholders, which are quite frustrating, because I was able to prepare for most encounters with them. Pretty straight-forward so it was easier to counter their main attacks. The above listed had varied attacks and required more finesse.

These change for me with the addition of Throne of Bhaal (excluding Kangaxx).

Everyone has a different playing style and may not agree with my choices, but there they are.

Well, I have a previous file where my main character is a juggernaut for pain and I just used it to get used to the game before I got serious. So I went and did it with him and his party, which are all pretty high leveled. I defeated them ( thank god for the bag of holding since only my main character survived and with it I was able to take all the loot and items from my other members ) but I can't figure how to get out? Do I need a mage alive?

Check the rest of the room. Utilize one of the items dropped by your adversaries. That will lead to your escape.

the twisted rune is located in the bridge section. You need a rogue stone to enter. It's a tough fight but if you have cloak of mirroring it will help.
