what level needed to be to... *minor spoiler may be included*

Post by Rudar Dimble »

I have a pretty hard time working myself a way through the prison in the peninsula district :o . I am a level 3 monk and have annoying Tom as my henchman.
I already had much trouble passing the last test (combat) on the main floor. And now I am getting killed again and again on the Containment floor (in center hall with escaped sorcerer).

I am too low level, or doing something else wrong???

Help needed please...

those "gang leader" guys like the 1st floor guy by the stairs can be tough, then that fight with the sorceror can be difficult as well. There's not really a trick to it, just try to draw off a few enemies at a time if you can. Use any potions you've got if you have trouble with a fight, there's always more around somewhere.

You can also switch henchman to a fighter type guy - you can get Tom back later. The mercenary's guild would be a good place to look for a tough fighter guy.

If you try a battle a couple of times and you are just getting worked, you should probably go look into some other parts of the city, try to find another quest or just some combat - get another level or 2 and those same fights will be cakewalks. I haven't played a monk yet, so I don't have any specific advice, but basically at 3rd level a lot of your cool abilities have not kicked in yet unfortunately. I soloed those fights with a fighter who had more hit points and better weapons and armor than you have and they were not easy. So I would suggest scrounging around the city looking for easy fights - there are plenty - to build up some EXP so you can get into the monk zone that will start happening a little later.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

Ok, but which quest can be recommended to me, taken in consideration that I can't beat that sorcerer??

head on over to the docks or the beggar's nest--both have encounters all over the place. i found the encounters with the zombies easier in the beggar's nest as you cabn whittle 'em down with arrows before going face to face. also, there are easy side quests in the beggar's that you can do for xp.

Yeah, that sorcerer is a PITA. Know how I got him? My little pixie went in again and again (solo), while I sat back and watched. Took quite a few rests to take that guy down to 'Badly Wounded', when I finally ran in to kill him.

Basically, you have to watch out for one thing against them: FIREBALL.

Usually I just rush the sorcerer. I've played with a rogue first so I was able to put in a sneak attacks and attacks of opportunities against him.

With my druid, I just used flame lash and than beated him down with the help of Daelan.

I am playing Beggar's Nets now and that's going pretty easy. So I'll first finish that and then go back to the Peninsula district to clear the prison...

Thanks guys ;)

Yeah, I didn't want to spoil spoil spoil since you hadn't specifically asked, but now that you did:

All of the districts are basically in chaos except Blackdale - there are plenty of easy fights in the streets. AND there is a little no-man's land between the city core and blackdale with wandering encounters. If you were able to clear the area around the peninsula of the escaped convicts you should be able to do OK on the streets in these other areas, so go clean them out and rack up some experience :) Just don't get anywhere near the bosses in each district until you're higher level. The fighter quest (fight club - get it at the mercenary guild) is a little expensive but not particularly hard also, you might want to look into that but it is not good for THAT much exp.
