1. I'm capped out at level 17 with 29500000 exp points. Is that all that i'm allowed to get?
2. I went back to the underdark exit and fought some more drow. Is there any benefit in going back into the underdark?

Well, if you install ToB, the experience cap is raised to lvl.40 for the fighters and (I think) lvl.31 for the spellcasters.
The only benefit in going back to the Underdark would be the experience for the drow, but I don´t know if they respawn once you exit...
