What does +19/+14/+9/+4 etc. mean?

Post by Cloth Boy12 »

I'm thinking about starting a new fighter and I wsa looking in the talbes in the apendix of the manual. I see some numbers for base attack in table 13 that goes like +19/+14/+9/+4. What do these numbers mean? Does it mean that I get 4 attacks per round and the first attack has a +19, the second +14 and so on? Also if I dual wield, do I then get 8 attacks per round? Thanks for the help.

On a side note, which do you prefer to dual wield? Katanas, Bastard Swords, or Long Swords?

Personally I prefer long swords, but thats just me since I don't wanna spend the exotic feat for the other 2 weapons.

And as for the bonuses yes that means you get for attacks per round, each with those corresponding bonuses, with your main hand. But only if you don't move during that combat round. Now when you are dual wielding, no you do not double your attacks, you simply get one more attack per round with your off hand. The only way to increase the number of off hand attacks per round is to take the improved two weapon fighting feat and then you will recieve a 2nd attack with a correspondinly smaller attack bonus to the 2nd attack you make in a round with your on hand. There is no way in NWN to get more than 2 off hand attacks. So to sum up the most attacks you can get in a round in NWN is 6, unless you are hasted.
It is best to be thought a fool and stay silent, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Thanks for clearing everything up. I've always wondered how high level fighters hit so fast....
