A Watchman's Helm is the reward. You must have the book that you find on someone's body in the cave to complete the quest. A Watchman's Helm is the reward. +8 to Spot, Listen and Search IIRC. A little extra info...

Oh and I got through OK with 18 Con, if you can make that you should be fine :D I think you have to have 18 Con to get through. The locked chest, I can't help you with. Have you tried picking and bashing it?

I got through after drinking a potion of endurance.

My familiar couldn't pick it, and I couldn't bash it. :( If you look though, the DC is 100!! How are you supposed to be able to get past that?

I've also found DC 100 at other places... like a barn door by the Griffon Inn. :)

Are you talking about the chest/sarcophagus in the middle of the cave at the end of the well? If so, and don't mind spoilers, highlight...
There is a chain hanging from the ceiling in front of the chest like a bell pull. Click on it, and the sarcophagus will open.

I kept trying to open that thing before I figured it out. Even dove through the well, recalled to the temple of Tyr, and teleported back to bring Tomi with me, since he didn't come through the well. He couldn't open it either.

A potion of Endurance will get you across. Once over there, you can save the game and then reload, and your henchman will be there with you.

Pull the chain to get the Skeletal Warrior to appear.

They sure don't make 'em like they used to... :D For some reason most barn doors in the game are invincible like that.

Umm, I got through the well with NO potion.
But I *did* take off my armor first! :p

Which book is it he needs?
I think I may have missed it in my travels.

The book should be in the same cave complex, on the dead body of an adventurer, iirc.

You don´t need CON 18 to swim through the well. My cleric (CON 15, I believe) reached the other side just fine. Problem is, though, that your Henchman won´t follow you, so you have to use the recall stone to get to the temple, and then use the portal to get back to the cave.

Doh. Yup, I don't know how I missed it. I went back MADE my IQ roll this time, and sure enough it was there on the body.
Again, unequipping armor got me through, with no potions or power-ups.

Thanks for the help though. It's off to Luskan for me now.
