*spoiler*
I killed him before.

I wouldnt save after you do it but I can give you hints if you really do want to kill him.

Heres how I did it:
I first got in a powerful blow with Sunder.
I then ran.
I used Aryon's Helper that summoned the three atronochs.
As they all attacked Vivic, I summoned as much as I could. Daedroth, Clannfear, Ancestral Ghost, Skeleton.
I sat back for a moment and drank a restore magicka potion.
After that I ran up to Vivec and was patiently aggressive
I hit him a couple times-then I run away-use hearth heal/healing items
I repeat this a couple times and the fight was over.

If you are not a summoner, then I suggest attacking as much as you can, then run, heal, and get back in there and attack again. Or you could use destruction spells, which is something Ive never done against Vivec, but Im sure it can be done successfully.
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

I looked in the editor "3000" health points!!!
now there's a challenge!

does it ruin the story line if he's dead?
or just tick everyone off?

It ruins the storyline.

As far as ticking people off-I dont know. Once I killed him I immediately loaded. I killed him simply for the feeling of: I killed a deity! Woo hoo! and out of curiousity.
