I dont get how to level up!

I read the manual and still dont get it. It doesnt depend on XP, something about skills...but one of my skills went up to 6 today and I still am at 0/10. Someone please help!

It only goes up 1/10 if you raise an ability that is either a major skill or minor skill for your character.

i thought it was, athletics...i think its minor...maybe no though

if your skill went up to 6 then it can't be your minor or major, because minor skills start out atleast at 15 and major start out atleast at 30.

ok well that one was before, that was speachcraft...athletics went to 17 yesterday...
