Near end battle Chapter 4 - SPOILERS

Post by Volcane666 »

OK,

How in the 9 levels of Hades am I supposed to defeat 2 (two - count'em) Dragons ?

I had enough trouble taking one down!

I am Elven 11 Fighter 5 Illusionist.

And Mr Redtiger as my henchman!

Arghhh

Buffs, potions and the use of the nice Stone of Recall is the way I did it.

When I saw them, I nearly cried. I know how you feel. My Paladin (lvl 16) drank potions and cast good buffs, anything he had and Tomi ran and met the Bronze dragon first of all. Tomi died and I was nearly dying, and I ran around behind the big boulder where the door is. The dragons could not reach me there (slight cheese I know, but two dragons, come on! :D ) I used the Recall stone, healed and got Tomi again and whacked on the dragon again. Rinse and repeat. :D

I never seemed to have any problems with the 2 dragons, I was a mage, then a monk and they both got by pretty easily. I thought the 2 dragons were easier then gorgotha(gold dragon i decided to kill in chapter 3).

the first time i went in there, they totally slaughtered me. i played a ranger, who was prob about level 16ish around there. the second time, though, i just used every potion in my inventory as well as the rod of the rod of the ghost, and then summoned both my animal companion and used monster summoning 1. both were pretty useless as i and daelen did all the work. the first dragon, bronze, died within seconds. the silver did some damage and managed to slay the summoned critter and took poor animal companion down a few notches before he died as well. daelen also took some damage. i, however, managed to somehow survive without a scratch. second time around was pretty easy, i must say. much better than the 1st time when my ranger was frightened and ran around getting whacked when they could catch me.

the way i did it was to use fire arrows on the white dragon and ice arrows on the red, (i had called shot and rapid fire feats tho) i also had boots of speed equipped so i could outrun them and my armour had immunity to mind spells so i coudnt get frightened .and wear them down that way, took a while but worked, i also didnt use a henchman cos he woudnt have been much use

Still trying...but no luck!

I have Dragon Slippers on which make me immune to fear among many other things - but don't seem to help.

I don't have the called shot or rapid shot feats (although I have proficiency and improved critical in bow - I've concentrated on melee - which has seen methru until now)

Not good, definately not good!

My level 15 fighter had no problem killing them he had 244 life with a pot of endurance( and grimgnaw's amulet). I used 3 heal potions, thats all :)
It's a miracle what a good fighter can do
