Thoughts on Jahiera romance...

Post by domi »

Well, you know how Jahiera was one of Gorion's friends?? So anyway she was one of the "caretaker" for you as requested by Gorion, but well, after her husband dying and all, I don't feel right about romancing her. It's like, an insult to Khalid's memory, you know how he was her husband and died while traveling with you, and now you're like, snatching her. It's not really a virtuous thing, you know? Besides she's like what, at least 10~15 years older than you. Eww.

Well, Aerie says see is as old as Jaheira in one of their arguments, and Viconia's much older then either of them.

Your right in a way. You sleep with her a month or two after her husband dies.

I still think its the best one, though.

But Jaheira doesn't look old at all.
Do not forget that she's a half-elf.
Half-elves have an average lifespan of 180 years, reaching adulthood around 20.

Well, drow have an average life span of 700, and a 100 year old drow is barely a child by drow standards. Plus, drow priestess come out of the drow acadamy at the age of 70 (at least in menzoberanzan). Viconia is probably 80+.

Isnt Viconia from House DeVir ?
If thats right she has to be much older then 80 years.
Remember House Devir was brought down when Drizzt was born, wich means she must have been a priestess by this time.
Drizzts Age when u meet him inGame is i think between 60 and 70 years.
So u can say Vic is at least 150 years old.
That age is perfect !
Just imagine how expirienced she must be.
and i dont mean her Magic or fighting abilities :D

I came to that conclusion after thinking about it last night, after I finished posting. She has to be at least 140 years old.

Well, if the Drow life expectancy is indeed 700 years as another poster proposed (I'm not a D&D number cruncher, so can't confirm or deny this estimate ;) ) a 150 year old drow has used up about 21% of their expected lifespan. If you assume humans have an average life expectancy of 100, this would be equivalent to age 21. Probably human life expectancy is more like 80, so equivalent more to age 17.

Elves can live up to 1200 so I thought it was the same with Drow.Viconia is probably around 28 in human years.

Also older women are pretty cool, I went out with a woman, not a GIRL when I was 19 ten years older than I was. It was great.

Quite frankly, all three girls in TOB/Soa appeal to everyone...

aerie, the cute sweety
viccy, bad, bad girl
jaheira more sophisticated older woman
They call me Darth...

Darth Gizka!

Muwahahahahhahahha!!!

Isn't it interesting?
All girls you date have a long lifespan.
If you play a human you would die long before because you don't have a godly essence anymore.

In one of the romance dialogues, Viconia tells of her past and says that it was a couple of ages before you were born. I don't know how long an "age" is in BG2, but I guess 50 years at the very least.

If like domi points out, Jahiera's next sweeze would be a male in your party right now. Makes you thing if Jan's turnip stories are really about turips!

I don't see a problem with Jaheira. One of the Bioware guys said Jaheira was 23 in BG1 your character was 20.
