We´re getting close!

Post by Mianna »

I have already made my reservation for my very own copy of ID2!The shipping date is 26th of September (here in Finland). Now that were just about to get our hands on ID2 it would be nice to know what we have decided after getting familiar with 3e.
My party will be like this:

Miena female human ranger 2-3/druid xx
"Miena begun her studies of the ancient druid magic in a moon elven city and became friends with a noble moon elf lady, a mage called Lynnath.Together they left out to the world to find adventures and more people for their party."

Taras male human fighter
"Taras is Mienas´ former love from a couple of years past. After Miena came back from the elven town she realised that Taras was gone from his homevillage. Angry, bitter and dissapointed she and Lynnath traveled north and one evening in a tavern they met Taras who joined them. The relationship between these two has chilled but as their journey goes on...who knows?"

Goldan male half-orc barbarian
"Goldan has suffered much because of his heritage. Forced to work as a slave, he has achieved an incredible amount of strenght and will. He bears many scars and much hatred towards slavers and after Lynnath,Taras and Miena saved him, he swore to smash every stinky slavers´ head."

Rilvar male thiefling rogue
"Rilvar has lived his whole life as an abandoned orphan. Dispised and even feared because of his bloodlines he was forced to live a thiefs´ life. Good at heart he refuses to use his skills when it´s unnessesary. He saved four adventurers when they wondered too far to the dangerous area of city slums. And because he had no other options he joined them. His outer toughness and inner softness appeals strongly to a noble elf lady, Lynnath."

Tiana female halfling mage
"Tiana lost everything she had when frost giants attacked her homevillage. As a mage she helped the town guards to defend their village but the peace-loving halflings fled and left brave Tiana by herself. She tried to help those who where trapped in the ruins but alone she wasn´t of much help. Desperate and broken by sorrow she fled her home alone and being so far behind from the others she got lost. Tired and hungry she wondered north and met a band of friendly adventurers who welcomed her among them. She admired the half-orc Goldan and made her own oath similar to his: She would destroy every frost giant she sees!"

Lynnath female (moon)elf mage
"A daughter of a noble family and a well taught mage, Lynnath posesses great knowledge and wisdom in the written word. Nature, mind and the secrets of life itself are however a mystery for her. She followed her wise friend Miena out from the city and she never stops to admire how much knowledge Miena has of life itself. Living her childhood in a highly protected city she enjoys to be in the open."

I´ll let you know how this party handles the challenges of bigger and ten times more dangerous Icewind Dale. Until then:
See ya!
The less you know...the more happier you´ll be.

I never reserve games myself. I’m lucky enough to be able to get them right away without doing so. ;) My basic party hasn't changed much since I first conceptualized it a few months ago (though actual experience with the game will probably prompt me to make a few adjustments). Only time will tell. :)
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

Does that mean it will actually be in stores on the 26th in the us or does that mean something else, like they start shipping?

My understanding is that in the good old USA it will be in stores before the end of August. Check with Electronics Boutique - they have release dates which are very reliable.

Go USA! :p :D
