Can't pick up... (help)

For some odd reason I can't pick up the Ring of the Rouge +1 which Tomi gave me after I accidentally dropped it in ch2 (I put it in a full bag by accident and it went to the floor). Now when I try to pick it up my character just looks at it and makes no attempt to even move to it. Any ideas what is wrong? I re-installed the game and have not updated (and I don't want to because when I do I can't start the game).
Thanks in advance for any help.

p.s. Yes I did save after I dropped it and I only use quicksave (stupid I know but I am usually very careful).

Is it a quest item? Have you checked the divining well to see if it appears there?

I have had this problem - of not being able to pick up items. Just another bug I guess...

I checked the well and it is not inside. How did you fix the problem then? Or didn't you?

Nevermind, I restarted my comp at it worked... wierd.

Well the other way to fix it would have been to either upgrade it from tommy, which actually destroys the older version and puts the new version in your pack. But since you figured it out that was kinda useless huh

that has happened to me many times. With switching out weapons and such, and the weapon or item that was unequiped didn't have a spot so it fell to the floor. All that needs to happen is to reload your game. It has always worked for me.

On my first character I never had this problem. On my second character, anything I dropped on the ground became stuck on the ground permanently. I patched, and never had this problem ever again. So try patching.
