I rolled up my party:
Drow cleric
Half-orc barbarian
Aasimir paladin
Halfling rogue
Elf Wizard
Half-elf ranger
I finished the docks area and was doing the weeping widow quest and exposed the mage as the traitor. After killing the mage, I got the level-up for the cleric and paladin. I checked their XP and they each had enough to make the next level (something like 6,000 each) even though the other characters had less than 1,000 and did not receive the level up notice.
Not that I am complaining, since both drow and aasimir are +2 level creatures, but it seems odd that the game would start them out with extra XP. Is this a bug? If so, why am I complaining? Has anyone else noticed this?

This isn't a bug--literally, because they're of "special" races, they're accorded more experience in consequence. This means that as more experience is required to advance, they'll fall slightly behind, since they'll require that much more experience to make new levels.
