Hello All -
I've reached lvl 20 or so, and have decided to restart w/a new char + all the latest plug-ins. When I created my first custom class char, I picked my ability focus stats and major/minor skills with a Mage/Thief in mind. Everything went well (too well?): I was using my Destruction, Athletics, Unarmored, and Short Blade so much, that I blazed through the levels in no time flat. This made for a very focused, if unbalanced char. Morrowind Masters: in retrospect, what is one to do if one wants a more balanced/flexible/effective char? How important is it to develop the more 'intangible' areas earlier in the game (such as: the Luck attribute, skills such as merchantile + speechcraft, etc)? What if you made a char with Luck as one of your major attributes, and picked major/minor skills that were NOT the ones you intend to develop first? Take a Mage/Thief type as an example: skills like Destruction and Security would come along well of their own accord through repeated use without them being a major or minor skill, and you wouldn't be levelling every five minutes. Am I way off base here? Are you supposed to fly through the levels and pay to be trained in the others when you come across the cash? I'd love to hear everyone's pet ideas and observations pertaining to new char creation!
