Racial equality in Neverwinter.

Post by Mr Sleep »

Am I the only person to notice the lack of ethnic diversity in NwN, there is Aarin Gend and another black guy in one of the Neverwinter districts but I can not recall ever meeting another character who wasn't white. Does this strike anyone else as strange?
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

Good point. However, it's rare for black people to be on the Sword Coast region/Spine of the Worlds. You'll go to Chult for a greater black presence.

That was something I had considered, that perhaps the area of wasn't prone to ethnic diversity. It is also quite difficult to do convincing black creatures in the toolset, the colours are somewhat limited.

Another point there. It is pretty weak and remember there are no planes to carry you around! :D ;)

How about elves, dwarves, halflings, half-orcs, gnomes etc.? I thought they were the races of the world in question, right? Blacks and whites are humans - another race. Neverwinter is a Northern city and would be populated by (fill in blank)... :)
May you find me worthy of your attention, outlander.

Most of the black humans live in the Shaar and other points south, as for other races of color, I believe that gold dwarves are actually dark-skinned and wild elves are very dark as well.
It is best to be thought a fool and stay silent, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Who the f*ck cares? Find another way to spend your time than wondering why there isnt a lot of racial diversity in a game. The truth is the people that made it are white and most people who play it are white as well as the region it is set in is mostly white so there is your answer. Is that really important?

I should refer to the greatly valued "don't feed the trolls" statement, but I can't resist asking you a few questions.

Why have you gone to the trouble of bumping this topic if it is of such little importance? Surely by it's very consignment to 5 replies there is clearly very little interest from the forum, by bringing it back up you are really achieving nothing but trolling and you're not very good at that anyway.
as well as the region it is set in is mostly white
Well I didn't know that, not being all that familiar with Neverwinter Nights(the region) I did not know whether it was due to the populous being white, the toolsets pallet or an effort on Bioware's part. The question was answered earlier on and I presume that is where this thread ends.
