stupid bard tricks? more cheese from user..under test now.
so try this...we know if you are afraid of facing gunslinger type mages, all with force spell and you need to stay immune to magic, you buff up with mislead and spell immunity, or if you are cheesing sneaking around for a backstab fest....
so i was wondering, what happens with spell immunity and inv radius 10 feet????
so, say a bard, and you all know how i find bards useless?? well, the game i am playing will feature tashia, sola, immie, aerie and harry...just to see how cheesy you can push bard tricks...
so i wondered, the counter for true sight is spell immunity, div so you can stay invisible, can only be targetted with see invisible creatures.... and immune to save or else spells, and with mondo penalty to hit, anyway, here is trick....
mislead clones can cast enhanced bard song, but mislead clones are vulnerable to true sight, i have never tried it, but suspect mislead, with spell immunity, will kill the clone but leave you improved invisible....
but what if you cast spell immunity after inv 10 ft radius????
after spawning a clone?
select the clone, busy singing its heart out, with bard, also singing, and move together, the inv 10 ft radius should be immune to true sight, so the clone should live, since it should be inside the spell radius of the inv 10ft....
anyway, will have harry in party, and have tashia try out some tricks, like what exactly happens to a mislead clone under spell immunity, and i just realized ribald auto casts true sight if you enter his store under illlusion....

I don't think it could work... invisibility 10 feet radius just makes invisible the creatures that happen to be within 10 feet from the caster when it is cast ... it's not a moving area effect.
I might be wrong but it would surprise me!
@user: (Actually tried it, anyway?)

Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

@User: Who is....Harry?
Icewind Gate II Improved engine, third edition rules and the full BG2 storyline.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.
Love is a perky elf dancing a merry little jig and then suddenly he turns on you with a miniature machine gun.

I could tell you, but have you considered the remote possibility of *gasp* trying it out?Originally posted by UserUnfriendly

Gee, I don't know what got into me for coming up with such a strange and illogical idea.

Most tavern owners and succesful storekeepers in the realms are powerful retitred adventurers, one should know by the times of BG1
I'd like to try a fight against Ribald... It could be very interesting... Attacking the owner of the Friendly Arm surely was back then.
Too bad you don't get all his stuff as a loot even if you win.
(I wonder what good does to Ribald to cast that true seeing in an obviously non-hostile situation)
@Xyx: I visited your site yesterday looking for your comments on some (powerful?
) spells that I find very odd, and found nothing!
I'm a little disappointed and more than a little surprised!
(If you want to answer to me now, I'm talking about the various Bigby's hands, but I'm, ahem, "more than a little" off-thread, so maybe I'll post it as a different thread....)

Its probably just part of the general wizards' script. But how do they know to cast it if you enter already invisible? Hmm?
As a experienced adventure, he finds it odd the door to his store opening and suddenly slamming with no apparent wind, so...
And he don't know it's a non-hostile situation until he actually sees who entered:
"Oh, it's just the spawn of the former God of Murder with five associates, all carrying their weapons in full view and clad in armor, trying to sneak into my store. No worries. How can I serve you?"
"No one expects the Brazilian Inquisitor!"
Abazigal: "Oh my god! They killed Yaga-Shura!"
Sendai: "You bastards!"

Boys, is this thread going nowhere!
Ok, my last two cents about bard tricks:
1) Ignore Haer'Dalis. Play a Skald yourself if you like to have someone singing (I bet nobody would like how that tiefling sings anyway, if they could hear him)
2) Pick up a good tank like Korgan instead of Haer'Dalis, cast Improved Haste on him instead of wasting time on a Mislead, then start singing while Korgan does the whacking. Chances are he will actually deal more damage than the two of you could do if you (or Harry) were fighting too
3) As an added bonus, you could cast invisibility/spell immunity spells on yourself, and they will work
