monk items
i'm playing a monk this time around, quite an interesting class i'd have to say. not especially powerful, but quite versatile and very fun to play on a whole. one problem: there are many items that the monk can't use, and there doesn't seem to be any special monk items (at least so far). so what items are the best for monks and where are they? thank you
no matter how hard you try you can't stop us now

Welcome to the Gamebanshee Forums! BTW, you sound very familiar; have you posted here before?
To answer your question, 3 useful monk items (off the top of my head) are:
1. Tzu Zan's Bracers for HP and AC
2. Wong Fei's Ioun Stone for HP and AC
3. A Ninja-to katana for monk (can't remember the name), good for low-levels until your monk gains levels.

Only monks with 18 in charisma can wear it, even without the item upgrade.
As for the gauntlets, I think those of crushing is far superior, though the tzu-zun (sp?) bracers might be more monklike, rpg-wise. Suit yourself!
Icewind Gate II Improved engine, third edition rules and the full BG2 storyline.
If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

when you reach high enough level, the game engine will actually replace your fists with +4 items....invisible, so you never see the stats, but available when you do NOT equipp a weapon....
at that point the bonuses of the gauntlets of crushing....
(i am crushing your head..crushing your head....boys in the hall)
are pretty redundant...
the real benefits of monks are the magic resist and you almost are a vorpal weapon...

Re: Soling Monk
You're welcome
Well, in general, if you are going to solo. You might want to give yourself a bag of holding, since you, if not, only have one inventory to put items in.

Good to know that picking is non-essential beforehand, any other things one should know before sololing a monk?

something funny goes here
Soloing a monk.
Bloodmist~
Funny you should say that, using shadowkeeper to add a bag o' holding is the *only* cheat I allow myself when soloing.
Otherwise trying to complete each and every quest becomes somewhat annoying. ;-)
Thanks for the hints! Been looking forward to trading in my Sorc and trying out a monk for something different.
