what is the point of putting any skill points into single weapon style? it doesn't effect you if you have a two handed weapon equiped, it only works if you have just one weapon equiped that is one handed and no shield equiped.
what's the point of doing that? the only point of having just one weapon equiped that's one handed unless that's the only thing that you do at the time (the very beginning of the game), is that ability there just to put points into it since it's the only other weapon style possible to (except for using no weapons at all).

I love single weapon for 3 classes.
Monk's can only use one single handed one, so this is a no brainer. Second is my Kensai with his Katana. 2 points of AC and a extra 5% chance to critical is good. More importantly a Kensai with his Katana is just plain cool. I still dual weild (power game) for when I get into nasty fights, but for the most part I just love the look of my Kensai with one Katana.
Lastly it works well with backstab for a theif from a roleplaying perspective.

my fighter thief just looks thievish with single weapon style katana, it suits him better than say, 2 katanas with 2 wep style, in my opinion I use him like thief most of the time, a thief that can fight with great thac0, how great is that he doesnt need 2 weapons. Just my style of roleplaying. Plus, if my fighter/thief backstabs on a critical you better watch out hehe I like having the extra chance of doin crit damage as well as extra ac because I dont ever put heavy armor on him, not yet anyway(only in athkatla now).
It's a miracle what a good fighter can do

Like that one! It goes really well with my sense of rpg, as well as the kensai is IMO a really cool exotic fighter with his blade as his shield. Ka-ching!

If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.
Love is a perky elf dancing a merry little jig and then suddenly he turns on you with a miniature machine gun.
