About turning undead

Post by Jaesha »

So I wanted to check out the cleric cheese "casting sanctuary (is it the right name, it´s one of the 1st lvl cleric spells?), find lich, turn undead and watch it suffer". Just in case, I SK´d my cleric (viccy) to level 16 and moved to the lich, which of course couldn´t see me.
When I turned undead, nothing happened!?!?? I waited for about 5 mins, but nothing. Do you have to be at a higher level to dmg liches, they aren´t immune as far as I know???

thanks.

If you ever fall off the Sears Tower, just go real limp, because maybe you'll look like a dummy and people will try to catch you because, hey, free dummy.

Your little problem here is that Liches (the powerful and cruel) and the highest of the so called undead.

It might not be enough with an level 16 cleric to injure them they might need an level 30 or something around there... IMHO ofcourse...=)

BUT i'm not really sure if there is possible to turn the liches...but it should work...actually...
If there's something more important than my ego. I want it caught and shot now.

liches need a very high level cleric to turn ...also viccy turn undead turns them green circle, thus they attack your enemies....aerie at lv 30 blows up liches before their scripts finish casting their first spell, as liches can see past the sanctuary.....turn, unlike spells are not capped at level 20, so a 40th level cleric can if they are neutral or good blow up demiliches....

use clua console to take her up to lv 25 or so, and use prot from undead scroll, liches can see invisible, so sanctuary will still auto trigger their spell scripts....and if you wait a few seconds, it should turn green and attack its buddies....

warning, prot from undead may not trigger certain spawns, so you may have to move in a unprotected char close by to trigger a map area creature spawn...

also check her stats, you should be able to find her turn level...

Turn Undead

Clerics and paladins can Turn Undead. The affected undead, 2-12 (2d6) in number, will either run away from the priest or be dispelled into oblivion. A paladin turns undead as a cleric of two levels lower. To initiate attempts to turn, the Turn Undead button must be selected and the only other thing the character can do is walk around. The chance of successful turning are summarized in the table below where a number denotes what the cleric must roll on a d20 or less. A "T" indicates that the undead are automatically turned, "D" indicates they are automatically dispelled, while the cleric is not strong enough to affect creatures marked with "--". If the cleric is evil, the table indicates the chances that the cleric can control the undead where "T" means they will automatically obey the priest and "D" indicates they will become completely subserviant to the cleric. "*" indicates an additional 2-8 (2d4) creatures are turned.

I chunked my first lich at 22 or so. I'd have killed it in melee easily by that time, but still it made me proud. :D

What about cloak of non-detection?

Does non-detection do anybody any good?

Explain plz. Give examples. I have not found it useful. :\

I thinl liches see through any invisiblilty, however if you are in stealth mode and a mage casts true sight you will not be found if you ware the cloak :D

its mostly in littiz, my, alson and xyx's head....

jae is probably referring to using sanctuary on aerie or viccy and turn undead and move into a room, explode them all, and keep moving until you have cleared a major area...lots of fun, much like the infamous sanctuary blade barrior trick...turn off ai, cast sancturary, blade barrior and move next to creature...it takes damage and dies...

So you know your enemies well, and people know this about you!
Cheer up, there's nothing unglorious in that, my friend! ;) :)
Where we came from, we don't know
Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...
