Imoen(/User ;)) romance respawned (spoilers about the Imoen romance mod)

@Fable: please, don't kill this thread again.
There are people interested in that topic who want to talk and hear about it within forum rules (and some of them were doing just that imho). Please again, try to find some other way to punish spammers and the other ones who want to break the forum rules or flame each other about moral/ethical/hystorical(sp?) questions. Please!

@User: so, how ya doing with lil' Immy? :) ;)
Please update us!

There are only two things I really fear in the Realms, and these are bugs and big downloads.
And that mod looks awesome in both of them...
But looks like you're still trying and you find it good.
Now, I'd like to try it... but I'm a little scared since I noticed that 30MB thing... ples tell me... Would you say it is really worth it?

@SLB, I'm not out to kill any thread that provides players with information. The last thread on this topic, however, quickly changed from a discussion about the Imoen romance mod to a serious, semi-flaming argument over rape, etc. That's not appropriate here, and tempers were flaring. I suggested it move to SYM, but when it heated up again, I closed it.

Now, remember, that was a wide-open consideration of the whole idea of an Imoen mod. Given the parameters you've created for your topic above, I don't see any reason I should close this topic. Do you? ;)

Uhm, I didn't actually want to address "you personally" about a thread that wasn't even mine...
The small print was an attempt to address you... semi-personally ;)
Something like "read only if really interested..."

Maybe it was a silly idea
But I'm very good at doing silly things with no particular reason, so bear with me please (whatever it could mean)... :p

(As a side note, I aprreciate your work as a moderator very much and I was meaning no offense *at all*! )

Oops , I did it again...!
I'm beyond hope  :D :p

Ah-ehm Fable...
I asked you to move that thread and you moved another one!! :D
Then I PM'ed you again and your mail box was full.. :p :)
It seems PMs are not so efficient!! :p
(ok, ok, I was unclear!! ;) )

Let's try to make order... there are 2 Immie mods around...
One was sick, and Immie was even tortured, and victim of abuses...
Let's forget this one...

What about the other one? Is this any good?

I'm sorry for you Littiz, but there's only one Imoen mod available at present, and this thread is about that one.

The only one actually in existence.

Nobody can tell you if Quitch's mod is good or not, because it hasn't been released even in beta test.

Again, I'm very sorry for you :(
But we have to stick to reality sometimes! ;)

And... you know.... actually, Immy gets tortured by that crazed sadistic Irenicus in every game of standard - unmodded - SoA, and that's why we (well at least I) are supposed to want to kill him!!!

You know, this has all the clarity of my wife's remarks. ;)

As for PMing me, try again. If a box is full, the board is supposed to generate email to that effect and send it to the box owner. I've received such messages before, but none recently. Try again. :)

yes, the mod is huge, but its mostly due to a tis file that can be extracted from a working install of bg 1....

lord m has provided both versions, with or without the tis file...

it was buggy, but now its mostly bug free, about as much as say kelsey tob, first version....

lord m has actually been posting new patches every day for 2 weeks straight, now hes over the debut, and is starting on the tob stuff...

despite some stuff some people will find objectionable, over all in terms of quality and writing and crafting of the mod id rate it a full 8 on a 10 scale...its just a good piece of work, and as of patch 1.007, almost bug free, and i have only this mod installed, and have only this mod installed for the past month or so...

i like it, its just a very well crafted and written mod...

i am also proud to state i am in the credits in the latest patch, i have been very active in his forum..hehehehhe.....

but yes, i think its very worth getting, if you personally feel the whole concept is eeewww.....i dont blame you, i thought so at the first, but hey, i was suffering in the desert of modlessness, i finished kelsey tob for some weeks before release, and i just took a chance...

I understand Fable... I'll show comprehension next time... :D
(anyway I've been indeed notified that a mail was sent!)

User, I remember you saying that there were ANOTHER Imoen Mod
after the infamous one!

@Serje: I'll argue with that again...
Imoen suffered tortures in the original game, but NOT sexual
abuses!!!!! No evidence whatsoever in the whole game.
So, I won't download any mod that'll change this!

Dave Gaider has actually stated that Imoen was *not* raped in the dungeon of Irenicus.

The problem is that some people are incapable of seperating the wish to cause harm to others, from the goals that Irenicus had.

@User: thanks for the encouragement. I will try it. I agree in full with the concept of "starving in the desert of modlessness"! ;)

@Littiz, Quitch: there's no argue at all!
I know that sexual abueses are a personal addition of that mod-maker. I was only telling that, in the standard game, Irenicus used to do things worse than sexual abuse to the pc and his(/her) friends routinely.

Consider the example of having Dynaheir killed before Minsc's eyes or the simple concept of removing your soul .
(Seriously, if I had to choose between being raped and having my soul removed, I'd enlist for raping at once!)

I'm not trying to be cinic, I'm trying to be rational (I mean, the game is all about horrible creatures doing horrible things to innocents and to people you love and you trying to stop or get revenge for this). I'm not going to judge the author until I personally read his work. if I'd not like the mod, I'll do uninstall. As simple as that!

I already stated elsewhere that adding the concept of rape to the game is unnecessary and disturbing imho, but hey, who listens at what Serje says?
(not mod-makers, for sure...)

When "someone" will release a better Imoen mod, I will be glad to try that one too ;)

lets try to keep conversation strictly on the merits or demerits of the mod,....

anyway, littiz, someone in the fwstudios forum is working on another imoen mod, in fact its quitch, to be worked on after his much anticipated back to windspear mod....i really like both his back to windspear mod and the imoen relationship mod, not to be confused with the imoen romance mod....

the quitch imoen relationship mod is simply making her more vocal, and much more assertive in her position as the party leaders sister....i mean she has been with you all thru bg1 and she is such a pivotal figure in the entire series that she deserves a much bigger part than the bioware concept of her,,,,

and lastly, just to totally confuse you, kelsey will romance her in tob with kelsey tob, if you are male or you turn down kelsey....

to be frank, i might have thought more than twice about the immie romance mod if more mods are available, but like i said, i was finished with kelsey tob, and while i might have played it again, immie romance was out.....and lets face it, were all really waiting for chloe, too....

on its own merits, i find it interesting and well written, its not for everyone, but for those people who are interested, it is well made and pretty much bug free.... ;) :)

Not quite. I'll have to give the romance mod a whirl sometime to take a look at the writing.

sorry, quitchy...you do know i am a big fan of yours, right???

i love all the things i have seen in both return and immie relationship, and quite frankly, with the hold on chloe, your return is to me the most looked foward to mod still under development....

sorry jason, i never did care for kelsey, except when he was romancing immie....sola is not for the relationship part, sorry wes, but i always did like the interactions of a mod most of all, so as i am a guy, and wont romance sola, or kelsey, i looked for other things in the mod to make up for those two mods,,, both of which i have indeed downloaded...

kelsey and immie are just sweet, and sola tactical challenges are an inspiration (for me to cheese them!!!)

:D ;) :) :p

It's just all about the cheese isnt it user?

Mods are always something I am interested in, so I tend to lurk, carry on!
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

I suppose I should start writing again then. I've had a good three weeks off. I think that's enough.
