aura cleansing?
What is it....i remember seeing it on BG1. i'm not for sure if its on BG2, however.
It's in BGII, although I don't know whether it's actually used by any of the NPC's:
Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleansing
The use of magic causes the collection of magical residue around the caster, which prevents even the most skilled of casters from casting spells in quick succession.
Daer'Ragh's Aura Cleaning removes this residue as the next spell begins, allowing for a greatly increased rate of spellcasting.

There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...
What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

I have it added to some mages (by SK, of course) to see the effect. Well, it, as well as the 2nd level similar spell, decreases the spellcasting time or it seems to do, though not so dramatically. I haven't done exact measurements, though, it might be illusion.
IMO, the level 2 spell shortens casting time, this one of level 4 removes pause usually taking place after the spell is cast, or so it should be.
