Monk of the old order...

Post by Nuke »

Since they can multi class to rouge - is it possible for them to benefit from backstab damage while using fists (blunt 'weapons') ?

Monk seems a great char for scouting - and with back stab he could be the man to start the battle.
Death is what you make of it.

And there are things far worse the death. And I know them all.

In 3rd edition, there is no backstab. There is "sneak attack" which is completely different. You don't have to get them from behind, you just have to catch them flat footed (without their dex bonus to AC) or be flanking them.

And yes, you can sneak attack with ANY weapon (sword, dagger, club, fist, mace, flail, etc). It's just a way of showing that you know where to "hit them where it hurts" with whatever weapon you're wielding.

Ah - so it is pretty much the same system as in NWN. (3rd edition rules as well)

However I read somewhere that you can do such an attack only once per foe - is that true ?
