Does anyone know what the deal is with the guy (Veikrag or something like that?) in the pub that recognizes you as a child of Bhaal, then gets toasted by a lightning bolt?

I'm pretty sure he's in there for fun, as there is no quest pertaining to him, nor is there anything else you can do with regards to him.

Thats what I thought the first time.. but I just met him on my second run through and he didn't freak out right away.... said something like "Leave me alone". It was only when I tried to talk to him again that he exploded.
I guess if there was a way to get anything out of him I blew it!
