Help with Imoen

I just started a new game, downloaded all of the patches, and started playing, but I can't seem to get Imoen to cast spells.

Her spells are memorized and all, but they don't show up on the spell bar, although they do for Jazheira. Any help would be much appreciated!

Have you rested? Maybe that would help.

Yep, everyone's rested and the spells are memorized .. just can't seem to get them into the spell bar.

Is she wearing armour? You can't cast arcane spells if wearing armour.

One of the mega bummers about Imoen (and Nalia) is they loose their skills if they wear most armor. I usually give whichever I have a robe (robe of vecna usually) and Bladeslinger Chain Mail when you get into the chapter with all the happy green elves ^_^

actually those happy elves aren't so happy..really...i really don't know why but i get the idea that they're not happy...

you can get a suit of elven chain much earlier(chap2). You can also get a magical elven chain if you side with Bodhi.

There is also one set of Bracers of Defense AC3 and a couple of Bracers of Defense AC4 in the game that is as good or better than most of the leather armour available. Plus, you can also use cloaks and rings of protection in combination with the bracers that you cannot use in concert with magical armour. I also believe there is an ioun stone that reduces AC, as will a couple of the amulets around. I just finished SOA with both Imoen and Nalia in my party and Nalia's AC is around -6 and Imoen's is something like -3. I expect that to drop further when I get the Angurduval [sic] Chain +5 from Cespenar.

add that to her, and she can wear platemail, with use any item, and still cast spells..hahhhehhhhehehahhahah
