Best stuff?

Post by sigurd »

Just wondered what all you people figured was the best equipment in the game (overall, i know no mage would use a sword) Me, i think the Crom faeyr seems to be the best weapon, no big specials, but the extra damage and THAC0 helps a lot, one can hurt anything with a +5 weapon.

Rings is of course Gaxx, and
boots of speed is best.

The Cloak of mirroring is the best easily

For helmets it is too hard to decide.

Best Shield would be shield of harmony easily, unless you want best AC

amulets is amulet of power easily, using those above a fighter can easily kill everything at Bodhis without getting hurt.

Girdles and bracers is too hard to decide, for a fighter no great except extra strength
Sigurd, Crazed Cleric of Talos, Servant of Evil.

in my opinion
*girdles go to frost giant
*gauntlets of crushing(if ur a monk like me Image)
* For helm, my choice is Vhailor's Helm, which lets u cast simulacrum once a day. 2 minscs with daystar is more than a headache for undead =]

as a weapon blackrazor is kewl, lvl drain is extremely powerful vs unique foes in the game. i dont have it but Crom Faeyr would be very good too, 25 strenght is nothing to make fun of. =]
(Tempus, God of Battle, has 25 strenght lol)

The Ring of Regeneration can fundamentally change a party. No more need for clerics.

The absolutely most usefull item in the game must be the bag of holdings.

That Bag of Holding does have the capability of changing everything.

As to helms, I'd give the win automatically to Vhailor's Helm if the damn thing actually worked as promised. But with the character's save against spells being invoked as though it were a hostile cast, preventing the spell from activating, it's essentially a useless item.

Well, the "best" equipment depends on the abilities of the character/party.
For a mage the best ones are: Staff of Magi, Amulet of Power, Ring of Wizardry.

The Bag of Holding by far!!

But if we're talking weaponry...I prefer the boots of speed, shield of balduran, and the awesome Carsomyr.

Lets not forget the Flail of ages. I forget who it was that did the weapons comparison a while back but i belive it showed the flail of ages and crom feayr to be the most devastating dual-wield combo, beating out even Black razor and fOA.

In such times we may need the powerful magics of the past, and the heroes to wield them.

True. And you get that flail so early in the game, too. I've given it to Viconia, but Jaheira would make an even more acceptable owner. (Only thing is, she has an embarassing assortment of great weapons, already.)
