Bad personality

Post by Fairmaiden »

I killed someone who I now realise I shouldn't have and I now have only 3 personality and 14 luck - they're both in the red. It happened in the Wilderness and I have no bounty on me but people are being really snappy and not giving me information.

How can I rectify this situation?

Just interested, who did you kill?

Anyway, if your stats are drained, either drink Restore Attribute potions for the one concerned or go to a temple and make a donation at the altar for a blessing, which will cure you of everything and restore all your attributes.

Brilliant, thanks!

I killed the "festering witch" who that naked Nord guy said nicked his Cloudweaver axe, (I'm really bad with names).

It took me ages to find her and he and I just wandered the wilderness killing stuff and I grew kinda fond of him.

So when we found the witch, he asked me to side with him against her and I agreed.

I have learned my lesson now, though...

From a powergamers perspective, siding with the Nord (Hlormar Wine-Sot IIRC) is the best way to go - you get a reward of 2 points of strength, and the axe isn't all that good so giving it back is a reasonable thing to do. Sure, having the guy around is fun, but the pathfinding isn't perfect and he'd die eventually, so I don't see how it was a bad thing ;)

Oh, that's ok, then.

The witch wanted to meet us in the Mages Guild in Caldera in 3 days time and explain everything, so I did wonder what she would've said and if it was very important but looks like it wasn't.

I thought Wine-Sott looked a wee bit like Mel Gibson in Braveheart!

Spoiler:

If you let the witch go, she'll just leg it...you'll never see her again, not at the Caldera Mages' Guild or anywhere else...thereby proving she's evil and naked guy was telling the truth :)

I sided with her the first time, and after she didn't give me anything good, I killed her. Now, I stay with the naked guy.

Excuse me but, IIRC, hadn't the Nord tried to 'have his way' with the lady?

I always side with her (it's at Caldera, isn't it?) since my chars never are really interested in axes. I get some potions, thanks and offer to help (i assume with healing, since she is a healer, not a withch). I have never tried to meet her after that to get some healing. Never sided with that Nord, after getting deeeper in the details of all that affair my charaters tend to dislike that barbarian (esp. because my favorite race is Breton, and Sofia is Breton or so i guess). Sofia's offer seems fair enough, one'd like if the Nord guy would accept it. He never does, though.
There is a strange thing, though. Whith Nord's disposition to protagonist high enough or even protagonist's personality and reputation high enough (what results in the same, in fact) the Nord never really attacks. He stands in battle stance and nonetheless is stil open to conversation (at least about weather), so i have had to leave them both standing here (getting the positive quest finishing response from Sofia). It altogether might be changed by patch i've recently put on because last time i have had to kill the poor fellow.

I always side with the Nord, my character has no use for axes either, but once you give it back to him HE GIVES YOU 2 POINTS OF STRENGTH. That's the only thing worth getting out of this quest...if you're maxed out on Str already that's an extra 10lbs carrying weight...
