Technical Problem

Post by 7-Force »

Hi!
Heres my Problem: I bought BG 1 & Tales of the Sword Coast a few years ago, when I was using Win98. But now I have Win XP Professional on my computer and the game seems to have troubles with this. BG is satrting, and I begin to play, but a few minutes later my computer crashes and starts up again. :(
Some idea of fixing this problem?
I have read another Topic, which say, that BG can't run with DX8.1 yet. Are there updates?
:D Just having some fun :D

Check the Bioware website. There's a WinXP fix up there.

I have DirectX 8.1 - it runs with no problem. What really gave BG fits was DirectX 7.0.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Same with me. 8.1 so far looks like one of the most stable DirectX releases in quite some time.

Have you patched the game and cleared out your cache/data file? :)

Yes, I've done this. After that the game have run about 2 hours, when it crashes again. But I don't mind about it. Then it returns crashing after about 2 - 10 Minutes, but when I cleared out the data folder, it ran without troubles.
Thanks to U all! ;)
