mace of disruption

im in chapter 3 and just got the mace of disruption, when i did the quest for the illithium for the statue i didnt even ask for the real stuff and just went straight with the alloy,and now i cant ask the merchant about the real ore and when i go to cromwell he doesnt even notice the mace of disruption +1 in my pack, and ive gone to the derelict house in the bridge district and neb isnt there any ideas on what to do thanks

I think if you don't get the illithium from the ore merchant during the temple quests, you can't later in the game. Unless you have an old saved game in which you can go back and get the illithium ore, you either have to do without the Mace of Disruption +2 or cheat and CLUA the ore into the game.

well im not gonna cheat so i guess i'll have to do without it
