sorcerer quest?

hi all
i have searched the forums and my guide from versus books...
can a sorcerer get the planar sphere after completing valygars quest, just like mages can?
i havent found a definitive yes as of yet.

Yes; and for that matter, so can the wild mage (introduced in ToB, but capable of play in SoA).
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

how can there be a wild mage in shadows of amn? code? patch?
i am planning on playing one through throne of bhaal, but have to wait a month and a half for the mac version (took them long enough!)

You will need ToB for the Wild Mage.

and if you have TOB you just create the wild mage as a normal char.....

In other words, even though the wild mage is only introduced as a profession in ToB, it's a patch to the entire game. You can restart SoA, and choose a wild mage as your main character.

Regrettably, there are no mods to date that introduce a wild mage NPC to your party. Think of the great dialog that could involve!
