possible bug: protect tyrianna paladin quest
ive protected tyrianna by killing some assassins that popped in her house and am waiting for her uncle to show up so i can get along with the game, but he hasnt shown up yet...just how long do i have to sit in this house before he shows up? i've tried talking to tyrianna again but all she says is 'go back down stairs and see if theres any more of them'
did i hit a bug or did i miss something?

little update - got bored waiting for the wench's 'uncle' to show up so i went off to complete some unfinished business on other quests. came back days later to the house where she is and she is still there, telling me to go back downstairs to see if there's more assassins to kill. i even went back to the Order temple and the contact there keeps telling me that her uncle will show up tomorrow, even tho its 5 days passed the first 'tomorrow'.
think this is a bug.

I had a problem as well, how do you know he's the killer? No known allignment will show it, the girl doesn't recognize him etc. Only after the girl was killed I knew it was him...
There's no knowledge that's not POWER!!!!

Hi Friedmad,
This is a known bug. Thankfully, there is a Baldurdash patch.

Work around for Tyrianna bug
Couldn't find a newer thread on this topic (did search on Tyrianna). I just ran into this bug. I am in my first run through of BG:SoA. The only recommendation I saw in several of the threads (too many to read them all) was to load a fix. In reading the comments I came upon some clues that gave me an idea for a tactic to try first before downloading a fix. This worked for me: **SPOILER**
Four assassins appear in the downstairs room. Three are spread out in the room, and one pops up in the middle of your party. This last one is one to kill first. He is the one that will try get upstairs, DON'T LET HIM!! If he gets upstairs you will have to follow him and that causes the bug to occur. I had everyone in the party armed with a melee weapon when we entered the building. When the assassins appeared, I ignored the three and everyone went after the guy in the middle. The other three do not (in my experience) try to go upstairs. He flew into pieces when my paladin hit him with Carsomyr (the +5 Holy Avenger). A party member or two took a crossbow bolt but nothing major. Now finish the rest off, but DO NOT go upstairs yet. Very shortly after you finish them the screen will do its fade out/fade in and Tyrianna will come down and berate you "again" and say she sees torches coming. This means Hurgis has arrived and after you tell her to get back upstairs, she does so and Hurgis comes in (I did read that there is a chance of a false Hurgis arriving first) after you finish your conversation with him, have your paladin do a detect evil. If Hurgis does not pop as evil you are in the clear. NOW you can go upstairs and get the "brat" without tripping the bug.
