Ive gone through the game a couple times and never had this problem. I cant get Edwin. Ive never had him in my party, and so Im playing specifically to romance Viconia and have Edwin.
As I recall, you get Edwin when you are asked to kill that fence in the Docks. But the Shadow theives wont ask me to kill him. Is there another way to get to Edwin? I'm really sick or Aerie...
Also, I never found the kid that asks me to go help trademeet. What did I do wrong? Luckily, I already knew of the altenate method to get the Trademeet location on my map thanks Mazzy).
At this point in my game, I can go to the mage prison whenever i want, but I would like to get edwin first. Any suggestions?

Are u sure you've completed the quests for Mae'var? There are 4 quests:
1) Steal the amulet from the temple of Talos
2) Take care of Reyic Gethras for Edwin
3) Get Edwin some papers from the Sea's Bounty
4) Get rid of a supposed Shadow thief Betrayer at the Sea's Bounty.
After this, Edwin will confront you and offer to join your party. Then you go to Mae'var's study, get the papers and tell Renal Bloodscalp about Mae'var. Renal will ask you to take care of him. Where exactly is the game failing?
Also, I never found the kid that asks me to go help trademeet. What did I do wrong?
You don't meet a kid for going to Trademeet. There is a kid in front of the Govt. building, who gives you the quest for Umar Hills. You have to go to the city gates and you'll find a merchant standing next to a cart in the middle of the street. He will give you the quest for Trademeet.
