Critical Hit question

Post by Stilgar »

How do critical hits work,
I though that when you rolled a 20 (or for some weapons a 19 or 20) you get a critiacal hit that does 2x or 3x the damage (depending on the weapon)
But I sometimes get a critical hit when I roll a 13 (not including the bonus)?
How come?
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

When you roll a 20 for a weapon (or: a 19 or a 20 for daggers, short swords, longswords, scimitars and great swords)you get a critical threat. When you score a threat the game immediately rolls again to see if the threat is confirmed. If your character hits with the confirm roll, the hit is a critical. If your character misses with the confirm roll, the hit is a normal hit.
