A question about resting & healing.

When I rest somewhere, my party casts healing spells to heal my party. Does my party also use special abilties and healing items when I rest. I dont use rest until healed (alot of times you'll rest another 8 hours for just a few HP, dumb). I want to know whether or not I should use the other healing abilites(i.e. lay on hands) before I rest for another 8 hours, or is the computer healing me with the abilities?

Your party doesn't use any potions when resting.
I'm not so sure about the lay on hands thing though....
However, if you rest in an inn I think you heal more if you choose one of the more expensive rooms.
Also, if you get the message; you may not rest at his time" in an inn, just choose a nicer room.

BTW howe came they sometimes heal completly
and some times almost not at all??
