backstabbing help!!!!!!!!!

Post by mikeg »

Ok, I am using Jan, with Hill Giant Girdle, so stength is at 19,with short sword of backstabbing...but my backstabs are doing like 10 damage!? The sword is 1d6 +3, plus my 8 damage bonus for strength...the LEAST I could do it 12 right? That's without X4 backstab and assuming a die roll of 1 out of 6. How come I can do 8-10 damage only? I am invisible also.

Sorry you haven't got an aswer yet. Normally somebody is quite quick for these "easier" questions.

As for backstabbing, you have to stand BEHIND your victim. Invisisibilty or Hide in Shadows both work fine, but make certain an ennemy mage hasn't thrown True Seeing etc. Also, if you have the AI activated and Jan equipped with a long distance weapon (like his cross bow), it is possible that Jan makes an attack before your attempt to backstab. This nullifies the backstab multiplier.

Problem solved?

And as Astafas said turn the AI off. Even if he's got a melee weapon equipt he will attempt to attack, before being near the victim and will go out of the shadows.
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak
