Nym (spoiler)

Post by Mr.Waesel »

When I first walked into the wandering village, i saw, to my disgust, the drow merchant Nym. Responsible for the fall of the Hand of Seldarine (now known as the Severed Hand), this guy escaped his punishment in IWD 1 by Dimension Door'ing away. Making sure this wouldn't be the case now, i cast Chromatic Orb on him, and...succes! He was paralyzed. After that, my Paladin and Barbarian made short work of him. And guess what? No rep loss! (but also no Xp) Looting his corpse turned up a short sword +2, a short sword +3, a Ring of Invisiblity 1/day and a Cloak of Resistance +1 (wich also adds to AC...strange).

So i suggest that everybody go kill Nym immediately, and finally give the bastard his due! :D

Heh heh heh heh heh, very good, of course you do then miss out on the armour which he has that is very good. Unless of course you get all that stuff and then kill him.

Doesn't that screw someting up with the story?
He's part of the storyline later in that chapter (IIRC)

Yeah, I bought his armour. When i was almost done doing the quests Nym leaves, suggesting that the pc's do the same. So, since he would go anyway, i killed him.

Nym sold magical weapons to the orc tribes around the severed hand, letting them bypass the magical wards ("mythals") around the hand. He destroyed an el;ven fortress for personal gain. The bastard  !
