glitch with Mail of Life

I have my 7th level fighter using the Mail of Life. When it's on he can no longer use any of his feats like power attack and cleave. This is the same for other characters as well. When I put it on my paladin the special ability button is disabled. Has anyone seen this problem?

Yes, the Mail of Life does disable the use of spells. This was briefly discussed in Interplay's Icewind Dale General Feedback Forum but no solution was found. I advise against using it until another patch fixes this.
