Damn drawbridge

Post by serjeLeBlade »

Yesterday night I remembered (the hard way) that my game crashses to desktop if I try to get near De Arnise Keep drawbridge from the outside when it's still closed :(
Anybody else experienced this?
Any idea about the reason and possible ways to fix it?

Where we're going.... (even worse)
And about who we could be, we actually have trouble in clearly defining the term "to be" in the first place...

Maybe the trolls are dropping the drawbridge on you as you walk by it!

Seriously though, no I haven't experienced this, and I often scout out around the keep before going in it.

Do you have any mods in place? And have you gotten the latest patches?

It happened to me after I installed Baldurdash remix 1.02. I got back to regular Baldurdash after that. Haven't tested it yet with version 1.03 (current one)

The short version of the answer would be "almost every mod you can think of except Total Conversions an Baldurdash fixes"...

Yes, all the latest patches. Except Baldurdash remix obviously (it seems unclear if it's supposed to fix the prolem or to cause it) ;) ...anyway, I don't have it.

But the crash is not a recent problem... I think it always happened to me! Since the time the only mods I had were Ascension and Kelsey (which I doubt could have anything to do with De'Arnis drawbridge quirks)

Yes, this works ;)
In fact, this time we cleared the keep without even opening the drawbridge.
(What good is it for, now that I think of it? The guards' help is not so... impressive!)

But I want to try avoiding the courtyard completely this time.
(Who knows... maybe I'll have some dogs in the courtyard of my new stronghold if I don't kill them now) :)

...or an Othyug...  ...bleah!
Well... we''ll see... I'm curious.

(And we can't afford to go back and forth too much this time, or Valen could end up nailing Delson or someone else and killing them) ;) :p
