it seems that i can't get my party into spellhold no matter what i do. i have the wardstone, and when i try going that way the game locks up as it's loading the area. i've managed to get myself committed, and the game locks up when it's loading the area. maybe this is just a bug, i hope? anyway, i have the patch installed. anyone have an idea how i can get my people to spellhold manually if this continues to happen?
The patch seems to be buggy. There are messages at this forum somewhere that complain about similar bugs (Underdark? I can't remember now.) after installing the patch. Oh well, save your games, uninstall BG2, install it again without the patch and try enter spellhold. That's all what I can recommend.
thanks. i had really hoped i wouldn't have to re-install this game. but there doesn't seem to be any other way to get my people there so otherwise i am essentially stuck. >
i got it to work. i finally just tried changing the resolution to 640, and i think it was crashing on the movie that leads into spellhold. now that i'm there i have it back up to 800 and it seems fine.
Then it was the patch! The messages I spoke about prevented me from installing the patch and I've never had problems with the movie (with any movie). I still recommend to send the patch to hell when you find some time for it.
