I just got done beating BG1 so I could get a max level fighter to play in BG2 and kit him to Berserker..but it won't allow me..is there an alignment restriction on Berserker or something, because the game manual doesn't say anything about that, and the gamebanshee website says nothing about it either.
Forgot..the "important" stuff about my figher.
Male / Dwarf / Max Exp / Lawful Good / Fighter
I tried to make a new character and when I chose Male and Dwarf and Fighter I could kit it to berserker..but just not this character for some reason.

Berserkers may not be of any lawful alignment. Says so right at the beginning of the kit description below the description of the berserker class. Try a kensai-dwarf use hammers and axes...dual weild them and have fun hackin' stuff ta death. I dinnae like the wizard slayer kit....

Well, the main reason that I wanted the Berserkers is because of this one monster that is in a room that is a couple rooms from a dragon..and the stupid thing always uses imprisonment or maze, one of those. Anyway, I beat BG2 twice and always used Minsc for that thing since when he zerks he is immune..I guess I will be forced to use Minsc again. Then again..with the Kensai..if you can't use armor, gauntlets, or bracers..how do you get better AC?

You dont get a very good AC with kensai's. but with some rings you could get it down a little.Originally posted by Sucineri

But what's realy great about them is that they are the best fighters in the game, and in the end, who cares about AC when everything drops dead before they have a change to hit you!!!!

Kensai
Kensai are, of course, offensive melee not defensive. You can get decent AC by ensuring 18 Dex, and using some of the defensive spells/items, like that shield amulet, ioun stones, rings & cloaks, etc. - Vanilla game AC of -2 or so unbuffed, but mostly, have someone else taking the beating while the Kensai shred their victims...err...opponents. Lots of good weapons choices out there for Kensai, though usually dual wield rather than two handed weapons.
There are lots of ways around maze/imprisonment other than berserking, so you don't need any particular class to do that.
