Sadomasochist group

Post by TheGeoff »

Ive decided to run a group full of the most Annoying NPCs. Here is my list so far....

Protagonist(Undecided)
Aerie
Anomen
Haer Dealis
Cernd
Nalia

I must really hate myself to do this. Im thinking my protagonist is going to have to be a fighter or thief type. Only Anomen is any good at melee...but I suppose Haer Dealis and Cernd can make decent tanks with the right spells...Should I go through with this or save myself the suffering ? :)

If you've already played through the game, what does it matter whether you've got a team without any melee skills? You already know what's coming up at every conceivable point. If anything, putting in some handicaps will help keep your next run-through interesting.

Try removing all clerical spells from your group, or all magical ones, if the challenge isn't great enough.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I agree with Fable. Besides, your lack of fighters is more than compensated by the fact that you have three, count 'em, three, npc's that can cast mage spells.
But if you want a npc that can melee well and fits this group, take Valygar.
By the time you reach ToB your party will make short work of any enemy, either by overpowering them or boring and whining them to death.

Switch Cernd for Edwin and make your char a fighter/thief.
(Edwin got 8 on my 0-10 annoyance scale)
Death is what you make of it.

And there are things far worse the death. And I know them all.

Aww...

Well, you have no super-antagonistic combos, like Jan/Anomen Korgan & Nalia OR Aerie, etc. It's a pretty funny idea, though & of course annoyance is pretty much a matter of taste.

I'd think if you make your main a swashbuckler, you, HD & Anomen can manage melee pretty effectively - Anomen is a good tank, though he doesn't have skins - but HD does for when you want them. Being a rogue, you'll be able to handle the thiefly skills, with HD for pickpocket.

Have fun...or not
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

You think Haer 'Dhalis is one of the most annoying NPC's??!!??

Bah you!!!

Hes great!!.......well okay, his doomthinking might not be one the best speeches you can hear in BG: SoA, but hes quite funny and one of the smartest NPC's.....+ he gets quite strong...

One of the funniest dialogs comes from him IMO.......these are the ingredients:
Take 1 HD, take 1 Jaheira and go to Waukeens Promenade.......u get a quite funny dialog actually :D

BUT........I think its great u take him along :p (although its for the wrong reason  )
"Sometimes Dreams are wiser than waking"

"One day I will leave this world and Dream myself to Reality"

"Dream your life, live that Dream"

"I have a Dream"........Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

The only characters I find truly annoying are Nalia, Hear'Dalis sometimes, although I generally like him, Aerie I used to until I tried romancing her, and Viconia. I don't know why so many people like her... It was fun to have her in the start and listen to her stories of slaughetering those farmers, but after that she just got annoying when she insulted everyone every few minutes.

One of the defining elements of HDs personality is when you decide to destroy the druid grove.

Everyone in the party states their arguments to it, then...

HD: "This action does not seem like that wise of a choice, but then again, it will be interesting to see so many druids dying." Or something like that.
No probalo.
