Cleric stronghold

Post by Coot »

I've a question about strongholds when multiclassing.
Usually a multiclass character would get the stronghold related to the quest you finish first. A fighter/thief would get the Keep if he did the Torgalquest before going to work for Maevar.
However, I did a search on this forum about soloing a ranger/cleric and there were some contradicting opinions about strongholds. Some say multiclass clerics can't get one of the cleric strongholds. Does somebody have a definite answer about this?

I don't have a definitive answer but here is my experience:

1. A ranger dualed to cleric, could not get the cleric stronghold but was able to get the ranger stronghold. This was with TDD, so that may have had something to do with it.

2. A cleric dualed to thief was able to get the cleric stronghold. (Oddly, she was also able to side with Bodhi, despite the fact that she had far more levels as thief than cleric.)

Never tried with a multi-class or with any other combination of cleric.

A multi-class Ranger/Cleric can't get the Cleric stronghold without cheating in a game that has no MODs. When you listen to Gaal's sermon, you'll be asked to head for the Temple of Helm instead of the Temple of Lathander (Rangers are always Good, of course), and the person talking to your PC won't recognize that he is a "man of faith". Apparently, the game does not recognize a Ranger/Cleric as a "Cleric". I got around this problem by temporarily changing my Ranger/Cleric to a single-class Cleric before I approached Gaal, but that was cheating, of course.

I believe the Oversight MOD available at Forgotten Wars fixes this problem, along with tweaking the alignment requirements for the Cleric kits

I think I'll look into the Oversight MOD. Thank you.
