I have 6 ward stones that I got, I stole a few from Ulgoth's beard and got some in Durlag's tower. Can I throw them away, they're too heavy and waste precious space in the inventory.
I have 4 Dwarven wardstones and 1 forge stone (yeah, I know it's fake, but does it sell for a lot? If so, how much? I might keep it). I also have the ward stone that gives access to the 3rd level of the bottom of Durlag's tower (which is the round room with the dopplegangers and 'fake' Durlags that appear). Can I just drop some or do they come in use later in the game?

If you got past the four warders and into the doppleganger level I'm pretty sure any wardstones you are carrying are superfluous. They aren't worth much so just ditch them in a chest or something. Hang on only to the ones you know open something. You will find more wardstones on your current level that will give you access to the next level. I don't think any of the wardstones from Ulgarth's Beard do anything. Did you get the two quests from Ulgarth's Beard? (One from the dwarf in the inn and the other from the mother of a missing adventurer). They make the Durlag Tower quest a little more interesting.

Yeah, if you've gotten there you don't need the wardstones anymore.
What I always do with plot items that I'm not sure if I need anymore is find a container somewhere that's I know I'll always be able to get back to and store them there. Like a barrel or something.
