Strange readings I encountered

I was in the Underdark, and wanted to sell some stuff to the Duergar, but my Char. had just been silenced by a Silence spell. I never realised this might cause him not to talk with the merchant, and walked up to him. But when I clicked him, instead of the usual dialog showing, there stood 'Strange, Jaheire said he would be here', in read. (The same as when it says 'Wolfgar- has nothing to say to you, for when you wanna talk to an agressive NPC).Anyway, I continued to click the dwarf, and it kept saying those stange things, different things all the time. Does anyone know what this is?
