Another Inquiry On Console Commands

Post by Albromor »

Once in awhile I like to "tweak" the game to see how it runs with a modified character. I now understand how to enter a command. My inquiry has to do with certain console commands. For example, for fun, I set my Magika at a slightly higher level (my actual level is 110) with player->setmagicka xxx. It raised it to the number I designated and it remained there until I overwrote an older saved game file and then it returned to its original setting. The rest of character remained the same.

Trying to understand the nuances of this game I am asking if these kinds of "set" commands are only temporary or if my modification should have remained at xxx and some kind of bug brought it to its original setting.

By the way, once I am finished experimenting I return to a save that was previous to my modifications and continue play. So game purists there is no need to pelt me with vegatables!

The Set modifications are permanent, from what I've seen.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.
